Alan

 Alan brings a wealth of hands-on experience, leadership, and local knowledge to Orkney Nautical Charters. Based in Orphir, Alan has built a diverse career spanning wildlife conservation, hospitality, and business management.

Since 2021, Alan has been working in wildlife conservation. Alongside this, Alan has successfully run Sanderlay Gue

 Alan brings a wealth of hands-on experience, leadership, and local knowledge to Orkney Nautical Charters. Based in Orphir, Alan has built a diverse career spanning wildlife conservation, hospitality, and business management.

Since 2021, Alan has been working in wildlife conservation. Alongside this, Alan has successfully run Sanderlay Guest House since 2017, giving him a strong foundation in customer service and tourism.

Outside of work Alan is a Marine Mammal Medic with British Divers Marine Life Rescue giving him a great in depth understanding of the marine mammals that we see on our tours.

With deep roots in Orkney, a practical skillset, and a personable approach, Alan is dedicated to delivering safe, memorable, and authentic experiences on the water.

 Tom is a passionate wildlife advocate and experienced communicator, bringing energy, professionalism, and a deep connection to Orkney’s natural environment to Orkney Nautical Charters. Since moving to Orkney in 2021, Tom has worked closely with marine conservation organisations including SMASS and BDMLR, contributing to the research and 

 Tom is a passionate wildlife advocate and experienced communicator, bringing energy, professionalism, and a deep connection to Orkney’s natural environment to Orkney Nautical Charters. Since moving to Orkney in 2021, Tom has worked closely with marine conservation organisations including SMASS and BDMLR, contributing to the research and protection of the islands’ marine mammals. As BDMLR's Area Coordinator for Orkney Tom is well placed to show of the amazing marine mammals of Orkney.

With a career rooted in customer service and communication, Tom is skilled at creating positive, informative experiences for people from all walks of life. His calm, adaptable approach and passion for local wildlife are at the heart of his work—driving his ambition to share Orkney’s unique marine environment with visitors and locals alike through memorable and meaningful experiences on the water.
